Accolade Binoculars: Double Your Thermal Experience

Did you ever think that human beings are one of the happiest creatures on Earth? Why?

Humans have two eyes to see, in other words, we possess binocular vision, which makes our lives more colourful and diverse. Firstly, binocular vision improves perception of depth: we can distinguish how near or far is the subject from it. Secondly, binocular vision allows 3D vision: the eyes are located just inches apart from each other and consequently, able to see two different images while the brain translates the two images as one. Given the facts mentioned, binocular optical devices have far more advantages than their monocular counterparts. 

Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide has been manufacturing thermal vision for more than five years already focusing on single-eyepiece models (monoculars). This year we are launching our first thermal imaging binoculars ACCOLADE (trademark PULSAR). As said above, seeing with both eyes delivers more comfort. In addition, the dual eyepiece design reduces eye fatigue during long observation. Programmed to receive visual information from two channels simultaneously, our brain minimizes effort when viewing with both eyes. 

The ACCOLADE line includes two models - XQ38 and XP50. The first one features 384x288 pixel thermal sensor and 38mm lens; the other one features 640x480 pixel thermal sensor and a large, 50 mm, objective lens. 

The binocular allows the user to adjust individually the distance between eyepieces. This improves viewing comfort and guarantees against probable double-imaging. 

Both models feature a long viewing range of 1350 or 1800 m. depending on model. The 50Hz frame rate is important when tracking fast moving targets. A high refresh rates ensures motion is fluid and in real-time, allowing more accurate speed assessment. 

The binoculars have three calibration modes. Along with the regular automatic, available in the majority of thermal devices, ACCOLADE offers semi-automatic and manual modes too. The manual mode is extremely useful when you need absolute silence, for example during hunt

ACCOLADE is a very durable piece of equipment. The frost-resistant AMOLED display allows use at temperatures ranging from -25 °C to +50 °C. The IPX7 degree of protection guarantees that your binoculars are fully waterproof. You will hardly opt for underwater hunt but you can always be sure that the device will survive a heavy tropical rain. 

The binoculars are equipped with an onboard video/photo recorder able to capture videos or pictures with a resolution of 640x480 pix. The 8Gb internal memory is large enough to hold up to 150 min of video or up to 10 thousand pictures. Like other recent Pulsar products, Accolade is compatible with Stream Vision, a branded software by Pulsar. 

Stream Vision connects your riflescope with Android/iOS mobile unit (smartphone or tablet) which enables you to receive footage in the real-time mode. The application also streams online the image captured by the device to YouTube. You can also share your memories to various social media such as Facebook, Skype, Twitter, Viber or upload to Google Drive, iCloud etc. 

The binoculars are supplied with a progressive autonomous B-Pack power supply consisting of a quick-detach, rechargeable IPS5, 5.2A-h battery pack designed to deliver over seven hours of operation in Wi-Fi mode. Higher-powered IPS10 battery packs also are available and provide a perfect off-the-grid power solution. Another powering option available is a power bank - you can use either Pulsar PB8I Power bank or any other compatible 5V external battery.
