Tests in the Alps

Tests in the Alps

On the 4-6th of July 2014 a distributor of Pulsar brand Dschulnigg GmbH & Co KG Company has successfully conducted product presentation for dealers and mass media on the territory of Austrian Armed forces training camp «TÜPL Seetaler Alpen».

Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide Company has participated as one of the coorganizers of the event along with partners of Dschulnigg from Steyr Mannlicher, Selier & Bellot and Leupold and has presented a number of night vision and thermal vision devices of Pulsar brand. Those included front digital night vision attachment Forward DFA75 and latest new devices – night vision riflescopes with integrated range finder Digisight LRF N850 (digital) and Argus LRF G2+ 4x60 (Gen 2+ image intensifier tube), thermal riflescope Apex XD50, thermal monocular/attachment for day scope Core FHD50.

During the event shooting tests were conducted, where presented optics ammunition and weapons were tested together. Altogether about 30 people took part in the shooting tests both from distributors and journalists as well as from the event organizers. The “Masters” of the shooting range – military officials have also shown their interest towards testing.

On the shooting range Pulsar products were represented by thermal riflescope Apex XD50, front attachment Forward DFA75 (together with Leupold VX-2 3-9x50) and night vision riflescope Digisight LRF N850. The shooting targets were at the distance 200 m. Devices were placed on the carbines Steyr Mannlicher Pro Hunter. Ammunition used - .30-06 Sprg, Sellier & Bellot.

New devices of the company, riflescopes Apex XD50 and Digisight LRF N850, have got excellent marks from the field usage point of view. They evaluated controls, menu, functionality and first of all the possibility to make a correct shot.

The quality of shooting (grouping of shots, position of POI) depended mainly on the skill level of the shooter and results of the skilled shooters were predictably higher. In general shooting background of the auditory appeared to be on the decent level. Concerning the results of shooting with DFA75 the total percentage of groups of shots which were in less than 7th sector was 10% and there was no difference in groups of shots and their position during shooting with attachment and without it.

Here we should mention skills of the participants representing wholesale and retail companies: people that deal with sales of hunting equipment on the Austrian market in the majority are very competent and know products with which they work well.
