Pulsar announces the launch of TRAIL LRF, an upgraded version of its brand new thermal imaging sight TRAIL. Built on the proven Pulsar thermal platform, the new sight is designed to offer more opportunities to the user.

The highlight of the TRAIL LRF series is the integrated precision laser rangefinder. The rangefinder takes measurements in two modes: Single Time Measurement and Scanning. Scanning mode allows the shooter to adjust quickly to changing distances for better shot placement. The rangefinder measures up to 1000m range with 1m accuracy.

The TRAIL LRF line include five models all using an uncooled microbolometer with 50Hz frame rate and 17 µm pixel pitch. Top XP models boast impressive and high-performing 640x480 pixel resolution; XQ line uses the optimal and cost-effective 384x288 pixel sensor. All those parameters combined deliver a detailed, fast and accurate image at long distance of up to 1.8km. For better object detection at a longer range, the sight offers two options. First is 2x to 8x digital zoom, smooth or incremental. Second is “Picture-in-Picture” mode that provides an extra magnified reticle-area image to help the hunter see enlarged object details without narrowing the field of view.

Trail LRF Thermal Sight

The TRAIL LRF is subjected to rigorous testing and proven to withstand recoil energy up to 6000 Joules. This means the sight is suitable for high-caliber firearms. The TRAIL LRF is a customizable device: it provides the user with more than a dozen of electronic reticles of various shapes for many rifles types; range finding reticles are also available. 15 zeroing profiles allow the hunter to use the sight on several rifles and for several shooting distances.

The TRAIL LRF sights are rugged and dependable. The IPX7 waterproof rating and frost-resistant AMOLED display allow the sight to withstand extreme natural weather conditions. The sights are powered with quick-change long-life rechargeable battery packs. The innovative battery-release mechanism ensures on-the-go battery change. The device operates up to 8 hours in Wi-Fi mode on a regular IPS5 battery pack. Operating time can double with the optional 10 000 mAh battery.

Like any other modern gear, the TRAIL LRF features a Wi-Fi module designed to live-stream video seen through the sight to your mobile device or directly to YouTube. Wi-Fi also allows the user to control some of your sight’ settings such as digital zoom, calibration, image setup.

The TRAIL LRF series thermal sight embrace a wide range of professional and semi-professional applications from hunting and scouting to law enforcement. Hunters looking for animals in the woods, outdoor enthusiasts willing to protect camping site at night, law enforcement professionals seizing criminals and rescue teams searching for survivors or lost people all will be pleased with potential of new TRAIL LRF series.
