Firmware update 2.0: available for XQ and XM sensor devices

After releasing firmware update 2.0 for the XG and XP line last month, Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide is now expanding the range of supporting devices to the Axion 2 XQ35, the Axion 2 LRF XQ35, the Axion XM30F thermal imaging monoculars and the Talion XQ38 thermal imaging riflescope.

Upgraded algorithms for a more informative image

Firmware algorithms detect and process images. With the upgraded image processing algorithms, firmware 2.0 reaches new heights in thermal imaging detail, sharpness and contrast.

The thermal imager clearly displays complex scenes with evenly emitting low-contrast objects, such as the sky, grass or water surfaces, and in a wide range of halftones. The enhanced detail and software that sharpens objects at varying distances, renders a highly informative thermal image.

New graphic elements for enhanced user interface

To improve the perception of graphic information on the display, a translucent substrate has been added when displaying the following information:

  • Results of distance measurements (relevant for devices with a built-in laser rangefinder);
  • Side incline level (relevant for the Talion XQ38).

How to update the firmware?

Install Stream Vision 2, a free mobile application available on Google Play or the AppStore. Connect your smartphone to the thermal imaging unit using WiFi and update the firmware.

All Pulsar devices compatible with the firmware update 2.0:

  • Axion 2 XQ35
  • Axion 2 LRF XQ35
  • Axion XM30F
  • Axion 2 XG35
  • Axion 2 LRF XG35
  • Thermion 2 XP50 Pro
  • Thermion 2 LRF XP50 Pro
  • Talion XQ38
  • Merger LRF XP50

More information on the current firmware versions of Pulsar digital and thermal imaging devices is available on the “Check Your Firmware” page.
